Keep an Athens day in two walkable clusters: Syntagma and the National Garden for a central stroll, then Plaka, Anafiotika, Areopagus and Philopappos for Acropolis-side lanes and rocky paths. Lycabettus is a separate steep climb north of the centre; Stavros Niarchos Park is farther south in Kallithea, with a daily free shuttle from Syntagma. Expect uneven stone, stairs, summer heat and separate tickets for archaeological-site interiors.
