What to expect

Queen Amalia's 19th-century garden covers 156,000 square metres behind Parliament. Follow the winding paths past water, lawns and historic plantings; a Roman mosaic lies near the north end, and the garden makes a shaded link between Syntagma, Zappeion and the Temple of Olympian Zeus area.

The National Garden is free to enter. The adjacent Zappeion and archaeological sites are separate places with their own access rules and possible admission charges.

Visitor notes

The operator says the garden opens daily from sunrise to sunset. It can change hours during emergencies; some entrances have accessibility limits. Cycling and scooters are not allowed inside.
