Philopappos Hill and Monument
Follow pine-shaded paths to the monument and open rock viewpoints across the Acropolis, Piraeus and the Saronic Gulf.
What to expect
Climb the pine-covered Hill of the Muses to Philopappos' second-century marble monument, then continue toward the Pnyx and Hill of the Nymphs for a longer walk above the Acropolis. Clearings open views across the city and toward the sea; this is a network of natural hillside paths, not a single paved promenade.
