Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign

The classic Las Vegas sign has a free roadside viewing area and marked crossing.

What to expect

Betty Willis designed the 25-foot sign in 1959, and it has become one of the city’s best-known landmarks. A small public area lets visitors take a photo beneath it; this is a brief roadside stop rather than a walkable link to the central Strip attractions.

Entry and costs

The sign and viewing area are free, with dedicated parking listed by the tourism office. Rideshare, other transport and nearby services may cost extra.

Visitor notes

Visit Las Vegas lists the site as open around the clock, with dedicated parking, rideshare drop-off and marked pedestrian crossings. Use the designated crossing and stay inside the visitor area; Las Vegas Boulevard is a busy road. Queues can form for photos, and the site is exposed to sun with little shade.
