Ponte Santa Trinita
Cross the 16th-century bridge and look along the Arno toward Ponte Vecchio.
What to expect
First built in 1252, Ponte Santa Trinita was reconstructed after the 1557 flood by Bartolomeo Ammannati, using strong pietra forte stone. Its low elliptical arches and four seasonal statues distinguish it from Florence's other historic bridges. The bridge was destroyed during the Second World War and rebuilt in 1958 to its earlier form.
