Explore the artisan district's public streets and small squares across the Arno.

What to expect

Oltrarno means the neighbourhood on the other side of the Arno from the historic centre. Feel Florence maps its artisan triangle between Porta San Frediano, Porta Romana and Piazza Santo Spirito, with workshops for silverwork, painted fabric, violin making and marquetry. The same two-kilometre itinerary includes historic gardens and city gates, so visitors can follow a route rather than treating the district as a single attraction.
