High Park
Paved park paths, a pond and black-oak woodland west of downtown.
What to expect
High Park is a 161-hectare public park where formal gardens and sports facilities give way to ravines, ponds and oak savannah. The City says about two-thirds of the grounds remain in a natural state. The black-oak ecosystem is a distinctive stop, while Grenadier Pond and the paved routes offer easier options than the park’s rougher woodland trails. Cherry blossoms usually peak in late April or early May, but the bloom lasts only several days and shifts with the weather.
