Giardino delle Rose
Find roses, Folon sculptures and a Japanese garden on the hillside below Piazzale Michelangelo.
What to expect
Below Piazzale Michelangelo, the Rose Garden looks over Florence and contains more than 1,000 rose varieties, including about 350 old varieties. The garden also has works by Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon and a Japanese garden donated by Kyoto, Florence's sister city. Roses are most striking in bloom, while the public garden is listed as open throughout the year.
