Belém waterfront and tower exterior

What to expect

The riverside path gives a free view of the Manueline tower where the Tagus meets Belém. You can admire its bastion and carved stonework from outside without entering the monument; combine it with the nearby gardens and Jerónimos area as a separate western Lisbon trip.

The public promenade and exterior view are free. Entering Belém Tower is ticketed; museums, transport and food cost extra.

Visitor notes

The monument operator lists interior visits Tuesday–Sunday, 09:30–17:30, last entry 17:00; it is closed Mondays and on listed public holidays. Entry requires a date/time ticket. The public riverside approach can be affected by works, tides and crowds; use marked crossings.
