Link the Cathedral lanes with Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol, then continue uphill only if you want the castle-side views. Alfama’s narrow, cobbled streets have stairways and sharp climbs; this is a neighbourhood route through lived-in streets, not a single gated attraction.
