Uhuru Park
Circle the lake, monuments and open lawns in a 12.9-hectare park beside Nairobi’s central business district.
What to expect
Uhuru Park sits beside the CBD, with an artificial lake, national monuments and an open assembly ground. Kenya’s national tourism service gives its area as 12.9 hectares and dates its public opening to 23 May 1969. Nairobi County’s 2024 state-of-county address described the refurbished park as free to enter. The shoreline and lawns are shared public space, so event set-ups or restoration work can change which areas are available.
