A documentation centre and outdoor exhibition at a site central to the history of Nazi terror.

What to expect

The Documentation Centre stands on the former site of the Gestapo and SS headquarters. Its permanent exhibition traces how these institutions organized Nazi persecution and terror; an outdoor exhibition and 15-station site tour connect the displays to the surviving historic ground. Allow time for a careful visit.

Entry and costs

Entry to the Documentation Centre, permanent exhibitions and outdoor displays is free. Guided group visits are a separate bookable service.

Visitor notes

The indoor exhibitions are open daily 10:00–20:00. The outdoor displays close at nightfall and no later than 20:00. The centre closes on 24 and 31 December and 1 January. All exhibition spaces and outdoor areas are wheelchair-accessible; ask at the service desk about the free wheelchair loan.
