Stadtpark
A central public park with the Wien River, the Strauss monument and nearly 9.6 hectares of paths and lawns.
What to expect
Opened in 1862 as Vienna's first public park, Stadtpark covers about 95,900 square metres across the 1st and 3rd districts. Paths connect the river-side Art Nouveau pavilions and bridges with lawns, flowerbeds, a large pond and the gilded Johann Strauss monument. The route feels different on either bank, so allow time to cross the park rather than treating the monument as the whole visit.
