South Bank Parklands

Follow the river promenade and bougainvillea Arbour, then cool off at the free Streets Beach lagoon when it is open.

What to expect

Clem Jones Promenade and the bougainvillea-covered Arbour make an easy riverside loop through South Bank's lawns and subtropical gardens. Streets Beach is a man-made lagoon, with the Boat Pool and Aquativity nearby; all three are free to use during their operating hours and give the walk a useful swimming stop without a trip to the coast.

South Bank Parklands and its public spaces are free to enter. Streets Beach, the Boat Pool and Aquativity are free during operating hours; food, rides, paid events and parking cost extra.

Visitor notes

The Parklands are open 5am–midnight daily. Swimming-area hours change by season, and pools may close for weather or events; check South Bank's current notices before making swimming the main plan. South Bank station, buses and river ferries are close by.
