What to expect

Schönbrunn's central garden axis runs from the palace façade across the Great Parterre and Neptune Fountain toward the Gloriette. The lawns, paths and exterior views are free to visit; the maze, Privy Garden, Orangery Garden, viewing terrace, zoo, Palm House and palace rooms are separate attractions. The estate is extensive, so use the official grounds map to choose a shorter route if you do not want to cross the whole park.
