What to expect

Parque Metropolitano is a large hillside park rather than a single viewpoint. Trails and bike paths climb Cerro San Cristóbal, where the cable car and historic funicular offer alternatives to the ascent; the photo on this page looks south from the hill toward Plaza Baquedano.

The park grounds are free. The cable car, funicular, swimming pools and some other facilities charge separately; check the operator’s current service and ticket information before setting out.

Visitor notes

Parquemet’s published seasonal rule sets daily park hours at 06:00–20:30 from 19 September 2026 through 4 April 2027; its government service page confirms free park entry and notes that individual attractions have separate tickets and schedules. Check live notices for changes. The hill route is steep, and free park access does not include paid lifts.
