Riva degli Schiavoni starts beside the San Zaccaria landing area and follows the Basin of San Marco toward Castello and the Arsenale. The city’s Castello itinerary uses it as its starting point before turning into the district’s lanes and gardens, so it can be paired with a longer eastward walk. Expect heavy pedestrian flow near boat stops and the main San Marco sights; the open-water view is the draw, not a quiet promenade.
