What to expect

Queensland Art Gallery and GOMA are two buildings about 150 metres apart in South Bank's Cultural Precinct. The free general displays cover Australian, Asian and international art; GOMA also has the Children's Art Centre and a dedicated cinema. That gives this visit a useful indoor route on wet or very hot days, with a short walk between the galleries.

Entry and costs

Entry to QAG and GOMA is free, including most exhibitions and programs. Some exhibitions, screenings and events require a paid or booked ticket; cafés and nearby parking cost extra.

Visitor notes

Both galleries are open daily 10am–5pm, with noon opening on Anzac Day; they close on Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The two buildings are 150 metres apart. Check QAGOMA's current exhibition and event pages because some programs require a ticket or booking.
