What to expect

Punta della Dogana closes the southern end of the Dorsoduro waterfront, where the Grand Canal meets the Giudecca Canal and the Salute church faces the water. The city’s walking itinerary links it directly to the Zattere, so it works best as the end of that route rather than a separate inland stop. The museum occupies the historic customs building and requires a ticket; the exterior waterfront approach is the free part. Tide, construction or crowd barriers may affect the very end of the route.
