Walk the working harbour quays among colourful traditional boats and waterfront façades.

What to expect

Port Lympia is Nice's working harbour as well as a waterfront neighbourhood. Along the basin, the tourist office highlights pleasure boats, maritime transport and the small, brightly painted wooden pointus that are part of the city's maritime heritage. The quays offer a different view of Nice from the open seafront, with colourful façades and terraces around the water.

Entry and costs

Walking the public quays is free. Boat trips, ferry transport, museums, food and drinks cost separately. This is an active port, so follow signs and temporary restrictions and do not enter operational areas or private pontoons.

Visitor notes

The official visitor itinerary starts at Quai Infernet, continues past Quai Lunel and Quai Papacino, and loops around the basin to see the pointus. The route along working quays may be interrupted by port activity; the summer harbour shuttle mentioned by the tourist office is a separate seasonal service, not part of this walking listing.
