What to expect

The former Palace of Communications is now Madrid City Hall and the home of CentroCentro, a public exhibition and cultural space. Tourism Madrid lists free entry to the building; the Mirador Madrid lookout is separate and ticketed at €4 standard, plus a €0.50 online booking fee. Exhibition access and individual programmes can change, so check the current listing before setting out.

The public square and entry to the palace building are free. Mirador Madrid costs €4 standard plus a €0.50 online booking fee; dining, events and any separately ticketed activities cost extra.

Visitor notes

CentroCentro exhibitions are listed Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–20:00, with holiday closures. The paid Mirador runs Tuesday–Sunday, 10:30–14:00 and 16:00–19:30; last entry is 30 minutes before closing, and weather or safety can interrupt access. The Mirador route includes 88 stairs; lifts are prioritized for visitors with mobility needs. Tourism Madrid says the Cibeles Fountain is screened for restoration for about five months from late June, so check whether it has reopened. The City's 30 August update forecast a walk-through under Puerta de Alcalá before year-end, while wider street works continue into Q1 2027; follow current signs.
