What to expect

Plaça de la Mare de Déu is one of the Old Town's main pedestrian squares, set between Valencia Cathedral and the Basilica of Our Lady of the Forsaken. Its fountain represents the Turia River and the irrigation channels that spread through the surrounding region. The open square is a free stop on a central walking route; the churches, tower climbs and guided visits have separate admission and access rules.
