What to expect

The IDRD describes Simón Bolívar as a large, multi-part park complex; the central park alone has a 10-hectare lake, a 3.16-kilometre jogging track, playgrounds, open lawns and an event plaza. Its published gate hours are 05:00–18:00. Boat hire and specific facilities are separate from the free public grounds, while concerts and festivals can ticket an event or close part of the park.

Visitor notes

IDRD lists the central park gates as open daily 05:00–18:00 and identifies several entrances on Calle 63, Carrera 60 and Avenida Carrera 68. The city lists general park entry as free. Boat hire, parking and special events may cost extra; check the park and event notices for temporary entrance changes or closures. Pets must be kept on a lead, and feeding wildlife is prohibited.
