Parc du Cinquantenaire
A landscaped park built for Belgium's 50th anniversary, with a monumental arch and museums on its long avenues.
What to expect
Created in 1880 for the 50th anniversary of Belgian independence, Parc du Cinquantenaire pairs formal gardens with monuments and museum buildings. Broad paths lead toward the triumphal arch, whose three arcades are topped by a bronze quadriga. The Royal Military Museum, Art & History Museum and Autoworld occupy the surrounding complex, while the lawns and paths also host sports, concerts and seasonal events.
