What to expect

Odeonsplatz was laid out from 1827 as part of Ludwigstraße. The square brings together the three-arched Feldherrnhalle, the Baroque Theatinerkirche and the edge of the Residenz, with the Hofgarten a short walk north. It is a useful link between old-town lanes and the grand boulevard rather than a ticketed attraction by itself.
