What to expect

NDSM is a former shipyard on the north bank of the IJ, now managed as a public outdoor arts and culture site. The wharf combines industrial structures, large-scale public art, studios, exhibition venues and places to eat, so the landscape changes as projects and events come and go. The outdoor site is free and accessible around the clock; buildings and events have their own access rules and may charge.

The outdoor wharf is a free public space, open 24/7. Events organised by other operators may require a ticket; indoor venues set their own terms.

Visitor notes

GVB’s F4 ferry connects NDSM with Centraal and is free for pedestrians, cyclists and mobility vehicles. Check the live departure board before setting out. Events can limit the usable outdoor area, and studios are working spaces; follow venue signs and respect private work areas.
