What to expect

Nan Lian is a 3.5-hectare Tang-style garden laid out around a circular pond, with shaped rocks, mature trees and timber pavilions. Follow the marked route for a quiet visit; a footbridge connects to Chi Lin Nunnery, a separate religious complex with its own visitor arrangements.

Garden admission is free. The vegetarian restaurant, tea house, shop and car park are separate paid services.

Visitor notes

LCSD lists daily hours of 07:00–21:00. Crowd controls may introduce free same-day tickets, particularly when the garden first opens on weekends and public holidays; groups over 20 should arrange a visit at least five working days ahead. Follow the one-way route and current notices.
