Follow the city's story through two historic townhouses in the Marais, moving from Roman-era Paris and medieval objects to the Revolution, Haussmann and modern daily life. Open Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–18:00 and closed Mondays, 1 January, 1 May and 25 December; ticket desks close 17:15 and rooms begin closing 17:45. Permanent collections are free without booking; check the museum page for current temporary exhibitions and holiday exceptions.
