Mississippi Riverfront Moonwalk
Follow the brick Moonwalk beside the river, then continue along the newly connected public park route toward Crescent Park.
What to expect
The Moonwalk is the brick riverfront promenade beside the French Quarter, named for former mayor Moon Landrieu. In April 2026, Audubon opened the Governor Nicholls Wharf phase of Goldring Woldenberg Riverfront Park, adding shaded seating, cooling misters, a marsh-themed playground and the NOLA Front Porch. Together with the earlier riverfront sections, the new public connection extends roughly 2.25 miles from Spanish Plaza to Crescent Park. This is a useful way to trade a busy Quarter block for river views without buying a cruise ticket.
