Millennium Park

A free downtown park for public art, gardens and lakefront paths, open daily from 6 am to 11 pm.

What to expect

Millennium Park brings public art, landscape and performance space together between Michigan Avenue and the lake. Cloud Gate and Crown Fountain make easy landmarks, while the 3.5-acre Lurie Garden offers a quieter turn through planted beds. The Pritzker Pavilion and Great Lawn sit nearby, so check the event calendar before choosing a route or expecting an open lawn.

Entry and costs

Entry to the park is free. Parking, food, rentals and some separately ticketed activities cost extra; event layouts or restrictions can affect access to individual areas.

Visitor notes

The City’s current page lists daily hours of 06:00–23:00. As checked on 1 November 2026, it also reports the Lurie Garden south walkway closed during improvements and the lower East and West pavilion restrooms closed; Park Shop restrooms remain open. Check the live notice and event calendar before setting out.
