The Field of Stelae and underground Information Centre form Germany's central Holocaust memorial. The outdoor field is accessible around the clock; downstairs, the exhibition documents the persecution and murder of Europe's Jews and the historical sites of the crimes. Leave time for the security entrance and a careful visit.

Entry and costs

Both the Field of Stelae and Information Centre are free to visit. Donations are optional; guided programmes may need advance booking.

Visitor notes

The field is open 24 hours. The Information Centre is normally open Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–18:00, with last entry at 17:15; it is usually closed Mondays, and the Foundation publishes occasional holiday exceptions. It is closed 24–26 December, closes at 16:00 on 31 December and opens at noon on 1 January. Waiting is possible at the security entrance. Treat the site as a place of remembrance: do not climb on the stelae, run or picnic there.
