What to expect

Mead is a large, free public garden with trails, a creek, boardwalks, a greenhouse and a butterfly garden. The operator describes it as 47 acres and welcomes dogs on leash. This is a more substantial nature walk than the nearby compact Kraft Azalea Garden; after heavy rain, trail surfaces may be wet, so check conditions before choosing shoes or bringing a stroller. Keep wildlife at a distance and do not feed it.
