Marrakech Medina lanes
Walk the public lanes inside Marrakech’s walled medina, from souk streets and historic gates to Jemaa el-Fnaa.
What to expect
The Moroccan National Tourist Office describes the medina as the historic heart inside Marrakech’s walls, with traditional quarters, souks, riads, museums and routes leading toward Jemaa el-Fnaa and Koutoubia. The city dates its Almoravid foundation to the 11th century, and UNESCO inscribed the medina on the World Heritage List in 1985. This outing is a self-guided walk through public streets; it does not include entry to a riad, museum or monument. Use a few named landmarks to keep your route legible through the narrow lanes.
