What to expect
Marine Drive traces a concave stretch of South Mumbai coast, with the sea on one side and an arc of residential Art Deco buildings on the other. The streetlights along the curve gave it the nickname ‘Queen’s Necklace’; the Maharashtra tourism guide recommends the route for walks and evening views. Treat it as an exposed seafront walk rather than a sheltered park: sun, wind and monsoon spray can make the edge uncomfortable.
