What to expect

Opened in 1925, Lumphini is a large central park with a lake, lawns, exercise areas, playgrounds and a public library. A relaxed loop is a welcome change from the surrounding traffic; shaded sections are interspersed with open paths, so carry water and plan longer walks for the cooler hours. MRT access is available from Lumphini or Silom, with Sala Daeng BTS connected by the elevated walkway.

Entry and costs

Greener Bangkok lists free admission to the public park. Boat rentals and organised sports or recreation services may have separate fees; transport and food are not included.

Visitor notes

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration lists daily access from 04:30 to 22:00. Cycling is only allowed 10:00–15:00 under the current park information. The park page also lists toilets and lockers; check posted notices for maintenance or temporary closures.
