La Candelaria historic walk
Follow cobbled lanes past painted façades, balconies, churches, murals, cafés and small plazas in Bogotá’s old centre.
What to expect
La Candelaria is a walkable historic district rather than one gated attraction. Bogotá’s tourism guide describes its cobbled streets, colourful houses, balconies, churches and murals, mixed with museums, cafés, bookstores and galleries. Start at Plaza de Bolívar, then follow the side streets toward Chorro de Quevedo; the city suggests allowing three to four hours for a fuller neighbourhood visit. Street access is free, but indoor venues and businesses have their own costs and opening times.
