Kowloon Walled City Park

Walk Chinese gardens and preserved walled-city remains, then visit the free timed exhibition in the former Yamen.

What to expect

The former walled city site is now a Chinese garden with the restored Old South Gate, pavilions, floral walks and the former Yamen. At the South Gate, an outdoor display includes a model and a cross-section of the dense settlement before demolition; inside the Yamen, a separate exhibition explores the site's history.

Entry and costs

The public park and current exhibition are free. Exhibition entry is capacity-limited and requires a same-day timed ticket; nearby food and transport are separate.

Visitor notes

LCSD lists the park daily 06:30–23:00. The free “Kowloon Walled City: A Cinematic Journey” exhibition runs 09:00–19:00 through 23 May 2028, with same-day tickets, timed sessions and capacity limited to 60 visitors at once. The exhibition closes for a No. 8 typhoon warning or black rainstorm warning; check the official page before travelling.
