Jemaa el-Fnaa
Jemaa el-Fnaa is a public square that shifts from daytime crossings to evening food stalls, storytellers and music.
What to expect
Jemaa el-Fnaa is a gathering place at the centre of the medina, not a single attraction with a fixed programme. UNESCO recognizes its cultural space as part of the historic medina, while Morocco’s tourism office describes how food stalls, storytellers, singers and Gnawa musicians bring a different atmosphere after dark. Walk through earlier to see the square in daylight, then return in the evening if you want the food and performances. Stall purchases and guided experiences are separate costs.
