Walk through landscaped ponds, aviary paths and modern civic architecture in a compact Central district park.

What to expect

From the artificial lake and waterfall, follow the paths uphill toward Olympic Square, the Tai Chi Garden, Edward Youde Aviary and Forsgate Conservatory. Flagstaff House, now the Museum of Tea Ware, is another heritage stop inside the 8.16-hectare park; museum and sports-facility visits have separate schedules.

Entry and costs

The outdoor park, Edward Youde Aviary and Forsgate Conservatory are free. The Sports Centre and Squash Centre have separate use arrangements; nearby museums and food are separate visits.

Visitor notes

The outdoor park is listed 06:00–23:00; the aviary and conservatory are listed 09:00–17:00. A pre-No. 8 tropical-cyclone announcement, No. 8 warning or above, or red/black rainstorm warning can close the park or facilities without notice. The aviary’s raised walkway is wheelchair accessible, but the wider hillside park has slopes and steps.
