Green-Wood's 478-acre landscape is a place to walk among hills, mature trees and historic memorials, with a free map and mobile guide for finding notable sites. It remains an active cemetery, so leave room for services and mourners and keep to the posted visitor rules.

Entry and costs

Admission to the cemetery grounds and the Green-House visitor centre is free. Guided tours and some programmes may have a fee; parking inside the grounds is free while available.

Visitor notes

The main and Sunset Park gates have different winter hours; two other entrances are generally limited to weekends and remembrance days. Gates lock promptly, so leave at least ten minutes before closing. The operator posted a one-hour grounds closure from 15:00–16:00 on 2 November 2026 for its Day of the Dead event; check the current hours page for later dates.
