What to expect

The cathedral's broad brick façade and Frauenplatz make a compact stop in Munich's old town. Entry to the church is free; the south tower is a separate paid visit, reached by a spiral stair and lift to the observation deck. On a clear day the official visitor page says the view can extend to the Alps.
