Dotonbori canal walk

A free 600-metre riverside route through Osaka’s busiest entertainment district.

What to expect

The Tombori River Walk has about 600 metres of improved public promenade between Ebisu Bridge and the Nipponbashi and Minatomachi areas. It puts you close to Dotonbori’s famous signs, theatre, restaurants and river cruise piers. The walk is short, but the surrounding shopping streets are busy and best explored at an unhurried pace.

Visitor notes

Shop and restaurant hours vary. Expect heavy pedestrian traffic around Ebisu Bridge; keep shop entrances and emergency access clear. Check the River Walk’s event schedule if you want a quieter visit.
