Dihua Street and Dadaocheng
Follow an old commercial street through Dadaocheng, where restored shopfronts house today's tea, herb and fabric traders.
What to expect
Dihua Street runs through Dadaocheng, an early trading centre that grew in the late Qing period. Its preserved shopfronts now sit alongside businesses selling tea, Chinese herbs, fabric and food. The public street itself is listed as open around the clock, but individual shops and heritage interiors set their own hours; the liveliest shopping season is the run-up to Lunar New Year.
