Crissy Field waterfront

Walk the Golden Gate Promenade between East Beach and West Bluff for bay, bridge and tidal-marsh views.

What to expect

The former airfield is now a waterfront recreation area beside a restored tidal marsh. The Golden Gate Promenade links sandy beaches, open shoreline and bridge viewpoints; marsh channels and exposed sand shift with the tide.

Entry and costs

The public park, promenade and shoreline viewpoints are free. Parking can cost, and food, rentals or guided activities are separate.

Visitor notes

The National Park Service describes the main promenade from East Beach to West Bluff as generally accessible and made of decomposed granite. East Beach has a beach access mat, accessible restroom and beach wheelchair on request. Some outer airfield paths have stairs with alternate routes; check current NPS notices, tide and wind before you go.
