What to expect

Casa de Campo is a broad forested park west of central Madrid. Tourism Madrid maps a four-kilometre flat Botanical Path from the lake toward Puerta del Zarzón, following the Meaques stream; the wider park also has walking and cycling routes, picnic areas and the lake. The zoo, amusement park, boat hire and other facilities are separate visits with their own charges and schedules.

Entry and costs

Ordinary parkland and walking routes are free. Boat hire, the zoo, amusement park, food and other managed facilities cost extra; the cable car is closed for remodeling at the time of review.

Visitor notes

The official visitor guide says pedestrian access is open year-round and lists several Metro approaches. The specific access areas for the lake, zoo, amusement park and Paseo de Extremadura close from 01:00 to 06:00. The Madrid cable car is currently closed for remodeling; check the operator before planning around it. The park is large, so choose an entrance and route in advance.
