Brooklyn Bridge walk

Walk the elevated pedestrian path for skyline, harbour and bridge-tower views between Manhattan and Brooklyn.

What to expect

The bridge is a working transport link as well as a landmark walk. Its pedestrian promenade is distinct from the protected two-way cycle path; follow the markings and keep the narrow walkway clear for other people.

Entry and costs

The bridge walk is free; transport to either entrance and nearby attractions are separate.

Visitor notes

The City began new protected bike-lane connection work on Adams Street and Boerum Place in October 2026. Check current DOT notices and street signs for the approaches, and expect crowding at the bridge entrances; wind and weather can make the exposed span uncomfortable.

Opening hours

Date-specific hours are not available for this place. Check the official page for the day you plan to visit.
