Brisbane City Botanic Gardens
Walk the 1.2-kilometre river edge beneath heritage figs, then cut through the bamboo grove and lily ponds.
What to expect
Brisbane's first botanic garden was established in 1855, and its mature figs still shade the paths beside the river. The 18-hectare grounds include a bamboo grove, lily ponds and a shared river path; free volunteer walks leave from the Information Kiosk at 11am and 1pm Monday to Saturday, except public holidays.
