What to expect

Independence Square, widely known as Black Star Square, is the large coastal plaza used for national parades and civic events. The Ghana Tourism Authority identifies the Independence Arch, Unknown Soldier memorial and Black Star Gate around the square. It works as a short outdoor history stop; the public visitor page does not describe a museum or promise access during every event.
