Barri Gòtic lanes and Plaça del Rei
Wander the public Gothic Quarter lanes to Plaça del Rei; the MUHBA archaeological rooms below are a separate museum visit.
What to expect
A short old-town walk leads from the Gothic Quarter’s lanes into Plaça del Rei, a stone square framed by Barcelona’s former royal palace buildings. The plaza is free to walk through. Beneath it, the Barcelona History Museum (MUHBA) presents archaeological remains and the medieval palace complex as a ticketed museum visit; Sunday afternoon entry is free on the City’s current schedule. Treat the square and museum as two different stops.
