Barceloneta Beach promenade

A seafront walk beside Barcelona’s urban beach, with open views across the Mediterranean.

What to expect

The promenade links the Barceloneta neighbourhood with Barcelona's city beach and looks out toward Port Olímpic. Rebecca Horn's L'Estel Ferit sculpture stands on the sand. The public shoreline and walk are free; beach bars, loungers and hire services cost extra.

Visitor notes

The public promenade remains a free walk. Barcelona’s current City Guide lists assisted-bathing support daily from 10:30 to 19:30, 30 May–13 September 2026; that season has ended, so check the City for the next schedule. Swimming conditions and lifeguard services are seasonal; check live beach flags and sea conditions before entering the water.
